Join the community of women golfers at Ramblewood Country Club and play 18 holes!
The Ramblewood Women’s Golf Association (RWGA) strides to promote interest in and the improvement of women’s golf by bringing together a group of women golfers competitively and socially for the betterment of the game.
We are a fun group of women who play by the rules of golf, enjoy some good-natured competition and each other’s company. Many members of the group stay at the club’s restaurant (Seven Tap Tavern) after their round for lunch and/or beverages. Indoor and Outdoor Dining is available.
Season Overview
We play 18 Holes Tuesday Mornings starting the 1st Tuesday in April through the last Tuesday in October. We begin with Casual Play in April. Our Competitive Season begins the 1st Tuesday in May and continues through the end of September. Casual Play resumes for the month of October.
Dues/Fees
To join the league it’s $50 (approx). There is a 1/2 season rate of $25 (for 2.5 months). You do not need to be a member of Ramblewood C.C. to join the league. Greens Fees and Cart on Tuesday are approximately $47.00 (no discount for walkers). GHIN is $37.32. A GHIN Index is required for this league, a Course Handicap of 36 or lower is preferred. If you are close to that, or if you don’t have a handicap yet please reach out to us. You can establish a handicap with 8 rounds of play at any course.
Sign-up for Play
You sign-up each week by responding to an email that is sent out on Thursday for the following Tuesday. You will receive your T-times for Tuesday morning no later than Monday morning. Starting T-time is 9:00 in April, May & October. 8:30 in June & September. 8:00 in July & August.
Format
Weekly competitions including Low Net, Closest to the Pin on Par 3’s, Chip-in’s and Sandies. Special Events include scrambles, better ball, match play, league championship, Solheim cup format, etc… Some of these may be shotgun start. Prizes are paid out at the end of Competitive Season.
History of RWGA at Ramblewood
Ramblewood Country Club opened for golf in 1962 as an 18-hole golf course and now has 27–holes.
The 18-hole RWGA was started sometime between 1962 & 1965.
In the beginning, there was a very large 18–hole group that was very active in the South Jersey Golf Association and did quite well in the Inter Club tournaments. There has been a President’s Cup Tournament & League Championship for many, many years. The group participated in and hosted Invitationals Tournaments thru the early 2000’s. Some of the weekly games have changed over the years but the Presidents Cup & Championship continue as do the good times and fun golf. We would love to have as many members now as they did in the beginning.
